ACCESS BY CAR

• From Marseille: take A51 motorway to Gap/Tallard, then follow signs to Embrun - Guillestre - Vars.
• From Paris: take A6 motorway to Lyon then A43 motorway to Grenoble, then follow signs to Briançon via the col de Lautaret (access to the Col du Lautaret is restrictedfor more info) or Gap via le col Bayard then Embrun - Guillestre - Vars.
• From Turin: head for the border at Montgenèvre then follow signs to Briançon - Guillestre - Vars.

Traffic conditions in winter can be difficult and some mountain passes are closed during the season. Please check the road report prior to your departure.

ACCESS BY TRAIN

• Montdauphin Guillestre station (18 km from Vars): 0 800 11 40 23 (Free from a land line; lines open every day from 7.00am to 9.30pm.)
• Paris/Briançon: direct trains + motorail-sleeper trains.
• Paris/Valence or Paris/Grenoble: direct TGV (very fast train)
• Marseille/Briançon: daily connections
